As part of the ‘Bringing Up Britain’ series, this radio programme has a very interesting discussion about creativity. With machines and artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly being able to do what humans have been doing for years, our futures are going to depend on skills that only humans have. Particularly for our children, creativity will be a crucial part of their future careers as well as contributing to their quality of life.
With the school curriculum becoming increasingly narrowed, we need to think carefully about how to bring up our children – as parents and as educators. Those with dyslexia are struggling to conform to the ‘conveyor belt’ approach to education – yet are quite likely the people that will excel in the creative world.
